CACI Ultra Technology

 Cutting-Edge Non-Surgical Technology

CACI (Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument) is the result of 20 years of research by the acknowledged pioneer of microcurrent therapy, Dr Thomas Wing, and has gained the reputation as the finest electrotherapy machine developed for cosmetic use.

Backed by over twenty years of medical research CACI is the best known system within the Beauty Industry, and is considered the most technically advanced treatment by both professional and the public alike. CACI has become synonymous with the micro-current non-surgical face and body lift technique.

The single and most significant feature which makes CACI the market leader is the patented Tsunami waveform. This unique wave delivers a combination of frequencies and current using a method that has been medically documented to successfully stimulate muscle tone and enhance skin tissue. The Tsunami wave works in harmony with the body to achieve the most effective and long lasting results.

CACI gently helps to tighten & tone sagging muscles, smooth the appearance of fine lines, plump out wrinkles, heal blemishes and much more, offering for the first time a serious alternative to surgery in an increasingly appearance conscious world.

"The Ultra is unrivaled when it comes to maintaining a lifted, firm and toned face and neck."

Ultrasonic Technology

Ultrasonic technology is used in three phases of our CACI ULTRA Facial treatments:
Ultrasonic Peeling
This cutting edge alternative to micro-dermabrasion uses ultra-sound to facilitate a non-invasive & non-abrasive deep cleansing & peeling process that removes dead skin cells, blackheads, oil, make-up residue & dirt to give an instantly clearer, cleaner, smoother & healthier complexion.

Ultrasonic Peeling also works to reduce non-pathological pigmentation, increase cell renewal, refine pores & destroy bacteria, thereby assisting in the control of acne & blemishes. Because it cleans without causing irritation & inflammation it is the perfect solution for all skin types including acne, rosacea, sensitive & mature skins.

Ultrasonic Circulation Boosting
Ultrasound is used to stimulate the blood supply to the skin, thereby increasing the amount of nutrients & oxygen reaching the skin, as well as working to stimulate the supply of water from the deepest layers, thus boosting it's hydration levels. Furthermore, by increasing lymphatic drainage, toxins are eliminated from the skin.

The increase in metabolic activity brought on by the ultrasound increases the production of collagen & elastin, this being particularly beneficial in the treatment of sun-damaged & mature skins. The friction energy produced further works to reduce the formation of fibrous tissue often seen in scarred & sun-damaged skins.

Ultrasonic Moisturisation
Through the principle of sonophoresis (bombardment with sound waves), ultrasound also enables deeper penetration of various active products, each formulated to treat different concerns, whether scars, pigmentation, blemishes, acne, problem, mature, sun-damaged, dry or dehydrated skins.
LED LIGHT Technology
The application of light as a treatment therapy is termed “Phototherapy” derived from the measurement of light energy in units of photons. Light energy is in every nerve, cell, gland and muscle of the body and each emits its own unique frequency vibration.
When the body becomes out of balance (due to age, health, environment, lifestyle or other external factors) the frequency vibration within the cells is affected and this disruption can lead to signs of ageing, skin conditions, illness and disease. This Class 2 laser is completely safe, painless & non-invasive, having the ability to stimulate cellular regeneration, boost blood supply & increase protein synthesis, working to 'plump out' wrinkles & lines. Specialised cells convert the light energy of the laser to chemical energy, which increases the naturally occurring healing mechanisms of the skin.

Laser has also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory & analgesic action, making it particularly beneficial in the treatment of acne & inflamed skins. Each colour wavelength of light has a specific and unique frequency vibration. Specific light wavelengths have a bio stimulatory action on the cells and so can be used to effectively normalize cellular imbalances and treat certain skin conditions.

The Ultra system uses two colours of laser; red for anti-ageing, healing & increased cell renewal; and blue for a calming, cooling, anti-septic effect, which is especially beneficial for the treatment of acne, eczema & psoriasis.

Recent Research Into Phototherapy
There are now numerous scientific studies on the effect of phototherapy in the healing of acne & other skin conditions.

  • NASA have recently conducted studies on the use of red LED light for the enhancement of cell growth and found that the application of specific wavelengths of light increased fibroblast activity and enhanced DNA synthesis leading to the production of new collagen.
  • A follow up study by Wisconsin Medical College demonstrated that the specific wavelengths of red LED light could be used to accelerate wound healing.
  • The American Academy of Dermatology has reported that blue light can be used to destroy the bacteria that produces the inflammation associated with propionbacterium acnes.
  • The British Journal of Dermatology has reported that the combination of specific red and blue light wavelengths can successfully treat acne.
  • A recent study at Hammersmith Hospital demonstrated that the combination of red and blue light phototherapy for the treatment of acne produced quicker results than the application of blue light alone.
Microcurrent Technology

Originally developed for lifting the facial muscles of those affected by bell's palsy & strokes, the CACI micro-current now has over 20 years of medical research behind it.
Micro-current delivers tiny electrical impulses that mirror the body's own bio-electrical field, and is thus virtually sub-sensory, with just a light tingling sensation, if anything at all. In fact most find the treatment extremely relaxing.

Micro-current works to firm & tone sagging facial muscles to give a more defined facial contour, leading it to be hailed by many as "the non-surgical face-lift". However, micro-current is now also widely used in physiotherapy for pain control and in hospitals for wound healing. As an aesthetic treatment micro-current stimulation has been shown to have a number of other cosmetic benefits:
  • Re-educates muscles
  • Increases blood and lymph circulation
  • Enhances the penetration of the active ingredients of skin care formulations
  • Increases fibroblast activity (up to 60%), these being your collagen-producing cells, thereby plumping out lines & wrinkles and enhancing the skin's water retention abilities
  • Increases protein synthesis (up to 73%), which plumps up muscle to restore facial volume & boosts elastin production for Increased skin pliability
  • Increases gluconeogenesis and cell membrane transport
  • Increases mitochondria activity, adenosine triphosphate (ATP)
How Microcurrent Works
True micro-current uses a current with an intensity of less than one millionth of an amp (< 1mA) and because of it’s low intensity it does not cause a physical or visual contraction of the muscle, instead, micro-current stimulation works by a process called muscle re-education.

In the 1960’s Drs S. Baker and S.Doyle demonstrated that effective and long term muscle re-education could only be achieved using micro-current if ultra low frequencies (less than 1 Hertz) were used.

In his book, The Body Electric Dr Robert O. Becker, indicates that to be effective micro-current impulses need to be delivered using a modified waveform that is able to overcome the body’s natural resistance to current ( Ohms law) without causing client discomfort.

Combining ultra low frequencies with a modified waveform enables the micro-current to recharge the electrical potential of the muscle by stimulating the spindle cell fibers that run the length of the muscle and attach to the golgi tendon organ in the belly of the muscle. This golgi tendon organ (GTO) simulation technique was developed by Dr George Goodheart in the late 60’s.

During treatment all 32 facial muscles are physically manipulated using soft cotton tipped wands (probes) or other attachments that transmit the micro-current impulses.

Working a muscle from belly outward will have a lengthening/relaxing effect that is necessary on muscles that have become contracted over years of facial expression ( eg frown lines ). Working a muscle from the origin and insertion point inward will have a shortening effect that is necessary for the majority of the muscles that have become elongated over time due to age and gravity.

Although a remarkable difference is seen after the first treatment, the benefits of micro-current are cumulative and typically a course of 12 treatments will be required for optimum results.
Hexapeptide Serum

To enhance the effectiveness of the micro-current we use hexapeptide serum filled buds, which not only increase the conductivity & effectiveness of the micro-current but also have a firming & toning effect on the skin, making it particularly beneficial for mature & wrinkled skins.
The hexapeptides in the 'instant firming serum' works to reduce wrinkles by slightly relaxing facial muscles, in a similar but gentler & more superficial way than Botox, giving an immediate tightening effect on the skin. One published study showed an immediate reduction in wrinkle size with the application of hexapeptides.

Peptides are small fragments of proteins, hexapeptides being a chain of six amino acids attached to the residue of acetic acid. It is thought by researchers that topicical application of this serum relaxes facial muscles by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters released by the brain that tell the facial muscles to tense. Relaxed facial muscles results in a reduction of wrinkles & lines.
